I am having trouble with my husband so this time I am going to the legal aid office through you with my problem.
Bi-monthly meeting: In the bi-monthly meeting held on the date 10.08.2022 Mr. Bashir Ahmed Chairman Kailail Union Parishad under Nawabganj Upazila Dhaka, I am already aware of Legal Aid's services, Three years ago I sent someone to the Legal Aid Office for legal help, But the way we tell people about legal aid services, they don't get services from the legal aid Dhaka office. If the lawyers do not demand money from them, they turn them around day after day, thus spoiling our image. And if you don't come and make a meeting then no one will remember about legal aid.
UZLAC Bi-monthly meeting: In the UZLAC bi-monthly meeting held on the date 11.08.2022 Mr. Hossain Mohammad Hi Jaki Upazila Nirbahi Officer Dhamrai Upazila under Dhaka district said that he has decided that the legal aid meeting will be held in the law and order meeting in September-2022 and regular it will be held. Chairman of all unions Parishad of Dhamrai Upazila will be present in that law and order meeting. We will inform the Chairman in that meeting about the work of the Union Legal Aid Committee and what service they will provide to the clients through the Union Legal Aid Committee and District Legal Aid Office. And if you give a presentation on legal aid act and your project in that meeting then the chairmen will gain more awareness. Mr. UNO also said that it is decided to go to the District Legal Aid Office through the application UNO office of all the clients whose trial is not possible in the Union Parishad.
Debate on Legal Rights : At the debate on legal rights and responsibilities held on 11 August 2022, Ms. Anamika, a student of Grade 9 of Ati Pach Dana high school, Sakta union under Keraniganj Upazila said, “We didn't know about the Legal Aid support issue. After getting the briefing on legal aid including rules and responsibility on Legal rights and provided us left lets, sticker and others important information to help the facilitate for debate, we came to know about such an important facility of Government for getting justice, If bad behave happens to a girl in our school, if a girl has a child marriage and we find out about a girl being trafficked, we will provide them with a Legal Aid helpline number 16430. We liked it very much and we can tell our family and neighbors from now and onwards.”
Video Projection : At the video projection held on 11 August 2022, Ms. Ismotara Begum, Head teacher of Ati Pach Dana high school, Sakta union under Keraniganj Upazila said that I learned to see about legal aid services provided in the video documentary. If you will be displayed to another school and colleges then the students can see the various videos of Legal Aid issues that they learn when they watch more information collected from legal aid videos. We will discuss this issue with our neighbors, relatives, family members and other teachers in our School. Many thanks to USAID, Democracy International and Aparajeyo- Bangladesh for organizing such programs today. They do more such programs in our school again”.
